Dejan Vinković

Dejan Vinković

Executive Director

After receiving his PhD in physics from the University of Kentucky, Dejan moved to the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton where he worked for four years. After that he became an Associate Professor at the Physics Department at the University of Split, Croatia. In 2016 he left the academia and joined Hipersfera Ltd. as the Chief Science Officer. Dejan is actively involved in various research activities in astrophysics and astronomy, biology, sociology and computer science. His research results have been published in some of the top science journals. Dejan is also very active in science outreach and education.

Mile Šikić

Mile Šikić

Mile is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electronic Systems and Information Processing, FER, University of Zagreb. He works in a number of computer science areas, but primarily in bioinformatics, computational biology, signal proceessing and data mining. He also works in the field of complex networks. In the past he worked as  a team member and project manager in various software and consulting projects in telecommunication area.

Dunja Potočnik

Dunja Potočnik

Dunja received a PhD in sociology from the University of Zagreb. The topic of her thesis was intergenerational mobility. She works at the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb. Her research includes topics on youth employment, general youth policy, youth and new technologies, social structure and sociology of professions. Dunja has been active in committees at European Commission and Council of Europe working on science, education and youth policies. She has experience in establishing and running national non-governmental associations in the field of science policy.

Vuk Vuković

Vuk is a PhD student at the University of Oxford, Pembroke College. He holds a Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics, in the field of political economy. His interests are interdisciplinary, but in economics they include political economy (public choice theory, voting and elections, interest groups, inequality), new institutional economics, and economic history.

Marko Lacković

Marko Lacković

Marko works at the Boston Consulting Group, USA. He started his professional career as a research assistant working in Zagreb and Lausanne, Switzerland. He holds a PhD from the University of Zagreb, with the research focus on telecommunication networks. His further professional development continued in Ericsson R&D in Zagreb on the project manager position, Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Representative office in Zagreb, Croatia, as the key account manager, and as a sales director in Atento d.o.o. He also worked as a territory sales representative for IBM Croatia and as the Chief Information Officer at the Croatian Radiotelevision – HRT. He has participated in several European Union projects, and has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications. His technical education has been extended by the MBA degree from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Zagreb in 2007.
